Download full report →Organizations that require a full-featured workflow engine with complex conditional branching, multi-branch routing, or event-driven orchestration; Workflow Builder may be insufficient for these needs.
Organizations that are highly price-sensitive and expect rapid team scaling without the ability to negotiate seat terms; per-user pricing models can become a dominant recurring cost.
Organizations that require high-touch support at lower subscription tiers; support access and responsiveness may be tier-dependent.

Available materials are primarily vendor-published narratives and product documentation. Third-party reviews reference qualitative outcomes such as improved visibility and coordination but provide limited hard metrics. Any ROI claims in vendor materials should be treated as vendor-published and validated independently (look for baseline methodology, reported sample sizes, and the measurement window).
Asana Workflow Builder is a visual workflow-design interface for modeling how work enters a project (intake) and progresses through stages (sections), with rules/automation attached to stages to reduce manual handoffs. It functions as a process layer on top of an Asana project: administrators define stages, triggers/conditions/actions (rules), and optionally intake sources such as forms or task templates. The feature set is presented alongside Asana’s broader workflow and automation capabilities, including messaging about AI-assisted workflow creation.
