Change Manager has been closed to new customer onboarding since late 2025. Organizations that require integrated ITSM-style change control but were not onboarded before that time should evaluate alternative change-management workflows or third-party ITSM integrations.
| Entry/starting pricing notes | Varies by feature; some free; metered or usage-based pricing on certain features (see vendor pricing and billing documentation). | Automation priced by usage-based metrics (e.g., job runtime, managed nodes); Update Management often incurs monitoring/log analytics costs depending on configuration. | Marketplace listings provide example tiers/pricing; total cost depends on licensing and infrastructure. |
| Primary use case | AWS-centric fleets needing remote operations, patching, inventory, and IAM-native controls. | Azure-centric or Arc-enabled hybrid estates tied to Azure governance and monitoring. | Cross-platform automation and orchestration across heterogeneous environments; rich content ecosystem. |
| Key strength | Session Manager (interactive access without inbound ports) and deep AWS integration; unified operations tooling. | Integration with Azure governance/monitoring and familiar tooling for Microsoft-centric organizations. | Broad automation ecosystem and content collections for complex cross-domain orchestration. |
| Key weakness | IAM and permissions complexity; console UX issues in some areas; potential indirect costs at large scale. | Costs may accrue via monitoring/log analytics; product transitions can create operational confusion. | Licensing and node management complexity; requires operational discipline. |
