AWS Verified Access is an AWS-managed Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) service designed to provide access without a virtual private network (VPN). It evaluates application access requests in real time against identity and device posture signals and customer-defined policies. AWS frames the product as intended to reduce the common "connect to the network, then access everything" model of traditional VPNs by moving to per-application authorization decisions. Key AWS framing: "secure access to your applications without requiring the use of a virtual private network (VPN)" and "evaluates each application request."
