Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) is a service-provider/partner-delivered collaboration-as-a-service platform built on Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and related applications. It enables partners to provide hosted or managed enterprise telephony and unified communications (calling, voicemail, presence, messaging, conferencing, and optionally contact center) to multiple customer organizations using multi-tenant or dedicated models depending on partner architecture.
Cisco positions HCS primarily as:
- A cloud migration option for CUCM-based on-premises deployments
- A means for organizations to convert capital expenditure models to subscription-based operating expenditure models via partner-supplied services
- A platform that partners can use to offer hosted UC services often bundled with session border controllers (SBCs), PSTN/SIP trunking, managed services, and add-ons
