01Common complaints

- Company sizes or stages where this product is overkill or insufficient - Very small teams (e.g., under ~10 employees) without compliance/audit requirements may find simpler tools (Clockify, OnTheClock) faster and less expensive to deploy. - Industries or use cases where competitors are clearly superior - Organizations needing a full HRIS/payroll platform may prefer Rippling, ADP, or Paychex-style suites. - Government contractors seeking end-to-end ERP (projects-to-billing-to-GL) may prefer Unanet or Deltek ecosystem alternatives. - Technical requirements that this product cannot meet without confirmation - If an organization requires modern API-first integrations rather than export/import tooling, confirm TeamKeeper’s integration approach before procurement. - If a published uptime SLA/status page and formal trust documentation are procurement requirements, verify availability with the vendor. - Budget constraints that make alternatives more appropriate - Organizations seeking a free or very low-cost lightweight tracker without compliance features may be better served by Clockify. - Specific workflows or integrations where the product appears limited - Organizations that require deeply embedded QuickBooks Online-native time tracking without import/export tooling should validate integration depth; QuickBooks Time may be simpler in that scenario. - Red flags in the buying process - Lack of clarity on security certifications and enterprise controls in public documentation; request such documentation early in procurement. - Define pricing and any ‘‘free setup’’ scope in writing to avoid misaligned expectations. - Current limitations acknowledged by the vendor - No explicit vendor-maintained “known issues” list was found in the official pages accessed, though release notes suggest an ongoing change log and bug fix cadence. - Features on the roadmap (not yet available) — note estimated dates if available - No public roadmap with dates was located in the sources accessed. - Scale limitations (at what volume/size does it break down?) - No public performance/scale benchmarks were found. - Security or compliance gaps - A documentation gap exists regarding SOC 2 / ISO certifications and published SSO/SCIM/security architecture details. - Technical debt or architectural limitations mentioned in reviews - Not clearly surfaced in accessible review snippets. - API limitations or integration constraints - Some integrations appear to rely on export/import tooling (e.g., QuickBooks import tool), which can be operationally heavier than API-native integrations.

Deal disqualifiers: what makes a poor fit

Organizations that require publicly documented SOC 2 / ISO certifications (or a formal trust center) as a strict procurement gate and the vendor cannot provide them under NDA
Organizations that require turnkey SSO/SAML + SCIM provisioning with documented support
Organizations seeking a single-vendor, all-in-one payroll + HR suite rather than a time/attendance-centric product with integrations

Why some customers left for competitors (churn reasons)

Not well documented in accessible sources; most public review content emphasizes positive outcomes.
Likely churn drivers to validate via reference calls:
- Need for deeper HR/payroll suite integration
- Desire for a more modern mobile UX
- Enterprise security requirements (SSO/SCIM/SOC 2) if those items are not available

02Why they buy

- Competitive advantages validated by customer feedback (not just vendor claims) - Customer feedback aligns TeamKeeper with government/DCAA-oriented timekeeping requirements and multi-program/grant allocation. - Review summaries indicate favorable customer support ratings, suggesting support responsiveness may be a differentiator. - Unique features and capabilities competitors lack - Public sources do not clearly demonstrate capabilities that are strictly unique versus competitors; many alternatives also provide audit trails and approvals. - A practical differentiator is market positioning and packaging: a focus on compliance-oriented timesheets, configurable rules, and multiple clock modalities aimed at regulated customers. - Differentiation from competitors based on reviews - Reviews emphasize structured timesheet allocation and approvals (especially for grants and government requirements) rather than generic time tracking. - Value propositions with evidence from case studies - No quantified ROI or time-saved metrics were located in accessible case study materials; such claims should be validated through reference calls. - Areas where competitors clearly have advantages (balanced view) - Competitors (especially larger HR suites) may provide: - Published security/compliance documentation (SOC 2/ISO and trust centers) - SSO/SCIM enterprise identity management capabilities - More modern UX and broader HR/payroll scope

Why customers chose this product over alternatives (inferred from reviews + positioning)

DCAA-oriented workflow controls and audit trails
Project/task charge code structure with approvals
QuickBooks export/import workflows (useful for SMB/mid-market accounting stacks)

03Field reports

Review platform coverage (what’s available vs missing)

- GetApp and Software Advice show a substantial verified review volume and an overall rating in the mid-4 range across a moderate number of reviews in the listings accessed. - Capterra also shows TeamKeeper reviews with recent update dates in the snippets accessed. - TrustRadius did not surface a TeamKeeper-specific profile during this research run. - G2 results for “Clockwise” in public search appear to reference a different product (an AI calendar assistant), so G2 is not a reliable source for TeamKeeper sentiment based on the accessible results.

Positive themes (from review snippets and summaries)

Charge code / project allocation usefulness
- Users report the ability to track total hours and allocate them across multiple programs/projects.
Customer support responsiveness
- Multiple listings indicate favorable support ratings.
DCAA / government timekeeping requirements
- Review snippets mention selecting TeamKeeper because it supports government timekeeping requirements.

Negative themes / complaints (from review snippets and rating distributions)

- Relatively few low-star reviews in accessible samples - The review distribution suggests a smaller portion of 1–2 star reviews compared with 5-star reviews; this indicates generally positive sentiment in the accessible review sample but limits visibility into detailed negative narratives. - Mobile experience appears weaker than web overall - Feature-level sentiment includes “Mobile access” at a lower score than core time tracking; a mobile app store rating for TeamKeeper Mobile is lower than the main product’s overall ratings, suggesting friction in the mobile app experience. - Feature depth vs specialized alternatives - Feature ratings are solid but not perfect, which can signal gaps in advanced scheduling, workforce analytics, or mobile UX compared with newer platforms.

Direct quotes from review/community sources (balanced)

- From a GetApp listing excerpt (positive on value / use case): - “We needed a way to automate time collection and automate leave approvals for our administrative staff that works on grants…” - From a Capterra snippet (use-case/fit statement): - “Needed software that would support government time keeping requirements.” - From a Capterra snippet (example use case): - “It’s helpful if you have a rotating staff or need to manage front desk, cleaning crews, or part-time support at different locations.”

Specific outcomes customers achieved (with metrics when available)

Publicly accessible materials reviewed here do not provide independently verified ROI metrics.
Vendor or third-party marketing claims should be validated with customer references and internal time-to-close/payroll processing metrics.

Available public case study–style sources found

Apps Run The World lists an example customer deployment (EBS d.a.c.) with an implementation year noted and describes typical time & attendance functionality.

Critical evaluation

Third-party customer database entries can be useful leads, but they often compile mixed public and proprietary sources and are not equivalent to a detailed vendor-authored case study with quantified outcomes.
No detailed vendor-authored case study with quantified outcomes (processing time saved, reduced audit findings, payroll error rate changes) was located in the official sources accessed.

What a buyer should request as proof

Reference calls from:
- A DCAA-audited government contractor or similarly regulated environment
- A grant-funded non-profit using multi-program allocations
A sample audit trail export and correction workflow demonstration
A walkthrough showing how timesheet changes are logged, approved, and preserved for audits

04Best fit

Company sizes

Likely most appropriate fit:
- Organizations across a broad size spectrum — particularly those where timekeeping compliance matters
- Mid-market to larger organizations by revenue, depending on operational complexity and audit needs

Industries and verticals where adoption is strongest (with customer examples)

Defense & Space / GovCon
Non-profit organizations managing grants
Professional services requiring charge codes and approvals
Customer example lead (third-party directory): EBS d.a.c. (Ireland) is listed in a third-party directory as a long-term user of TeamKeeper (formerly Clockwise).

Roles and personas: decision makers AND end users

Decision makers
- CFO / Controller
- Contracts / Compliance lead (GovCon)
- HR operations manager
- IT admin (if on-prem or hardware clocks)
End users
- Employees submitting time to charge codes/tasks
- Supervisors approving time and leave
- Payroll/accounting staff exporting/importing to accounting systems

Pain points and challenges the product addresses

Auditability and controls around time entry and corrections
Multi-project/program/grant allocation
Manager approvals and leave workflows
Time clock capture (PIN/card/biometric) plus web/mobile punching

Qualification criteria: what makes a good fit

Organizations that require auditable timesheets (non-editable logs, correction workflows)
Organizations with structured charge codes/projects and enforced approvals
Organizations that benefit from configurable business rules (overtime, breaks, schedule restrictions)

05The pitch

What the product does (core value proposition in objective terms)

- TeamKeeper (formerly branded as “Clockwise”) is a web-based time & attendance / timesheet management system oriented around controlled employee time entry, approvals, leave tracking, and auditability—especially for organizations that must demonstrate disciplined timekeeping (e.g., government contractors). It supports timesheets, approvals/corrections, scheduling, leave management, reporting, time-clock integrations, and exports into accounting/payroll systems. Official product materials describe workflows aligned with DCAA-style controls, audit trails, and configurable business rules. - The vendor describes a “Web Clock” mode that turns a browser-based PC into a time clock, plus mobile apps with geotagging/geofencing options.

Target market and market positioning

- Primary fit (based on vendor materials and review-site categorization): - Government contracting / organizations seeking DCAA-aligned timekeeping controls - Professional services and project-based organizations requiring charge codes/task-level time - Non-profits and grant-funded organizations needing multi-program allocation and approvals - Review aggregators list usage across small business, mid-market, and enterprise segments, with presence in regulated or audit-heavy industries (e.g., Defense & Space, IT services, non-profits).
