Google Cloud Deployment Manager (DM) is Google Cloud’s legacy infrastructure-as-code (IaC) service for provisioning and managing Google Cloud resources using declarative YAML configurations, with optional Jinja2 or Python templating for reuse and parameterization. The service creates and tracks deployments as a unit, supports previewing changes, and records a manifest/layout of the expanded configuration for auditability and troubleshooting.
Important 2026 status: Google has announced that support for Deployment Manager will be discontinued on March 31, 2026—meaning the service and related APIs/functions will not be supported after that date. Google recommends Infrastructure Manager (Infra Manager), a managed Terraform execution service, as the migration path.
