Google Cloud Migration Center (often shown in-product as "Migration Center" and listed on review sites as "Google Cloud Migration Center") is a centralized hub in Google Cloud Console for discovery, assessment, planning, and cost/TCO estimation of infrastructure and application modernization as organizations migrate from on-premises and other clouds to Google Cloud. It aggregates asset inventory, supports grouping and preferences, and generates assessment outputs, including TCO reports. It also connects to execution tooling (for example, Migrate to Virtual Machines) rather than being the execution mechanism for all migration types.
Key capabilities Google documents include:
- Discovery and assessment tooling, including additional tools and exporters.
- Cost estimation and offline cost estimates with stated assumptions and guidance.
- TCO reporting and, in some areas, AI-assisted insights (not universally supported across all asset types).
