Google Cloud Source Repositories (CSR) is a managed, private Git repository hosting service on Google Cloud. It provides Git hosting, repository browsing, and integration hooks into other Google Cloud developer services such as Cloud Build. CSR uses Google Cloud IAM for access control and integrates with Google Cloud developer workflows.
Important lifecycle status (material to buying decisions):
- Effective June 17, 2024: CSR is not available to new customers (new organizations or projects that had not previously enabled CSR cannot enable the API or use it). Existing organizations that used CSR prior to that date are stated to be not affected.
- Google’s documentation directs new source-hosting adoption on Google Cloud toward Secure Source Manager as an alternative.
