Coding Rooms was a browser-based virtual classroom and IDE environment designed for teaching and practicing programming. Its primary capability was real-time instructor visibility into student code (a “live dashboard”), with collaborative editing, assignments/autograding, and optional built-in classroom communication features (audio/video/chat) intended to reduce dependence on external tools such as Zoom and screen share.
Important lifecycle note: Coding Rooms publicly states that the platform transitioned to a read-only state on August 31, 2024, and that as of June 2025 the Coding Rooms platform is no longer available (activities cannot be completed, including running code in IDEs). This materially changes its value as a purchasable product today.
