Halcyon is an anti-ransomware endpoint platform that runs alongside existing EDR/EPP/XDR tools to detect and disrupt ransomware across pre-execution, encryption and exfiltration stages and to capture encryption key material to enable automated decryption and managed ransomware detection and recovery services.

No clear public product roadmap with dates was captured in accessible sources during this research pass.
No explicit scale limits were found in public sources during this research pass; buyers should test at scale for VDI, servers, remote endpoints, bandwidth constraints, and performance overhead.

Download full report →Organizations seeking a single consolidated EDR/XDR platform rather than an additional layer If the procurement strategy emphasizes reducing agents and consoles, an add-on ransomware layer may conflict with consolidation goals.
Organizations with strong ransomware resilience already in place (immutable backups, tested restores, mature EDR, and identity controls) If operational processes and recovery capacity are already sufficient, the incremental value of key-capture recovery may be limited compared with investments in broader controls.
Organizations that require publicly published SOC 2/ISO documentation as a procurement prerequisite Halcyon may hold relevant certifications, but if a publicly available trust center is required up front, the lack of obvious public documentation can delay procurement.
Organizations sensitive to pricing volatility or endpoint minimum changes Community feedback suggests the possibility of price and minimum changes; procurement teams sensitive to budget predictability should negotiate commercial protections.

Halcyon published a press release claiming it stopped Emotet at a US insurance provider within 30 days of deployment, and that it bypassed a market EDR in that environment.

Halcyon is an anti-ransomware endpoint platform offered as an additional "ransomware resilience and recovery" layer that runs alongside existing EDR/EPP/XDR tools. Its primary technical focus is ransomware-specific detection and disruption across the attack chain (pre-execution, encryption activity, and data exfiltration), plus recovery capabilities (notably "key material capture" to enable automated decryption in some scenarios).
Halcyon also offers a 24/7 Ransomware Detection & Recovery (RDR) service and a ransomware-related warranty tied to business continuity outcomes (no ransom paid / no downtime tolerated), though the exact terms are not always fully visible in public materials and should be reviewed during procurement.

Halcyon targets mid-market and enterprise organizations and is frequently discussed in contexts where organizations already have an incumbent EDR but seek an additional ransomware-focused layer (especially when ransomware has bypassed traditional endpoint stacks). Public materials and third-party coverage emphasize minimizing downtime as a business outcome.
