This research run did not find a definitive vendor "known issues" page specific to IBM Cloud Monitoring’s current service.
IBM announced deprecation of certain logging and activity-tracking services (IBM Log Analysis and IBM Cloud Activity Tracker had end-of-service notices on March 30, 2025) and encouraged migration to IBM Cloud Logs. This indicates IBM may deprecate observability-adjacent services over time; buyers should request a long-term roadmap for Cloud Monitoring, Instana, and related components.
IBM Cloud Monitoring provides an API for managing dashboards, alerts, and teams. Buyers should validate:
TrustRadius listed IBM Cloud Monitoring with a mid-range score based on a very small number of reviews during this run. The low review count makes the score directionally useful but not definitive.
G2 hosts a product page for "IBM Cloud Monitoring with Sysdig" with reviews available. This research run captured the existence of the listing but did not extract multiple review quotes from the page snapshot. Buyers should review recent G2 comments for feedback on alert noise, UI and dashboard usability, Kubernetes troubleshooting workflows, and pricing predictability.
A targeted search did not identify a prominent, directly relevant Hacker News discussion thread specific to IBM Cloud Monitoring in this run.
Probable reasons include:
Given limited direct churn evidence specific to this product in accessible sources, likely drivers to validate in reference checks include:
This research run did not identify a detailed, publicly accessible IBM Cloud Monitoring case study with transparent methodology, baselines, and independently verifiable metrics.

Download full report →Gartner Peer Insights lists IBM Cloud Monitoring in the "Infrastructure Monitoring Tools" category with very limited visible review volume during this research run. A reviewer quote stated: "Great tool package to monitor any environment" and noted the suite covers infrastructure, application, and asset monitoring and is useful for reporting and automation.
Caveat: the page showed very low visible review volume in the snapshot; low review volume reduces the reliability of generalizing from the limited quotes available.
There were few high-signal threads specifically about IBM Cloud Monitoring; however, several discussions addressed IBM Cloud operational experience more broadly, which can affect monitoring outcomes (billing, support, outages). Example themes observed in public forums included:
These community comments are not direct product feature critiques but are relevant to operational risk and day‑2 support expectations.
IBM’s Instana materials cite quantified outcomes such as:
Critical evaluation: these metrics are presented in vendor materials or third-party study summaries. Without reviewing the full study methodologies and customer contexts, treat these metrics as directional rather than guaranteed. They describe Instana specifically and may not apply to IBM Cloud Monitoring.
IBM Cloud Monitoring is IBM Cloud’s managed infrastructure and container monitoring service. It collects metrics, provides dashboards and alerting across IBM Cloud resources and cloud-native environments, with emphasis on Kubernetes/container metrics and troubleshooting support. IBM presents it as part of an "IBM Cloud Observability" portfolio and describes capabilities such as alerting and incident diagnosis.
Important naming / product lineage note: IBM Cloud Monitoring has historically been delivered as "IBM Cloud Monitoring with Sysdig" (a managed Sysdig Monitor-based service). IBM also maintains adjacent observability products such as IBM Instana Observability (APM/observability platform) and other monitoring-related offerings. Marketing materials can mix these product families; buyers should confirm which IBM service SKU they are procuring (Cloud Monitoring vs Instana vs other IBM monitoring products) and which telemetry types are covered (metrics vs logs vs traces).
