IBM Control Center (historically referred to as Sterling Control Center and currently branded under IBM Sterling) is an enterprise monitoring, alerting, and governance layer for managed file transfer (MFT) and B2B integration operations. It centralizes operational visibility across Sterling components and related endpoints (for example, Connect:Direct, File Gateway, B2B Integrator) to enable teams to:
- monitor transfers and processes, detect exceptions, and investigate issues,
- enforce service-level criteria and service-level agreements,
- generate audit-ready reports,
- manage configuration for Connect:Direct nodes in some editions.
IBM describes the product as providing centralized dashboards, rules-based alerting, and governance features intended to reduce reactive incident handling.
Important naming/scope note: IBM uses the term "Control Center" for multiple unrelated products. This report focuses on IBM Control Center for the IBM Sterling MFT/B2B ecosystem (Sterling Control Center / IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor / Director).
