01Common complaints

- Very small properties with minimal IT capacity - For small independent properties (e.g., 10–30 rooms) that only require simple reservations/front desk functionality and minimal integrations, an enterprise PMS may be disproportionate in implementation and administration overhead. - Organizations highly sensitive to interface/update fragility - Organizations that cannot tolerate interface-layer disruptions (payments, keys, POS feeds) should treat reports of Liaison-update failures and rollback cycles as a material risk to investigate during procurement. - Teams that rely heavily on advanced reporting out of the box - If an organization requires extensive, out-of-the-box advanced reporting without additional BI tooling or data engineering support, the product's reporting capabilities should be validated with references and product demonstrations. - Buyers seeking maximum integration ecosystem breadth - Organizations requiring the largest available catalog of pre-built integrations and a mature app marketplace may find alternative platforms more closely aligned with that requirement. - Budget constraints requiring transparent pricing - Buyers that require published pricing or low-commitment, month-to-month contracts should account for the quote-based pricing model and confirm commercial terms during procurement. - Update-related operational disruptions (interface layer) - Public reviews describe incidents where Liaison Server updates caused process failures requiring rollbacks. - Reporting limitations / complexity - Some reviewers characterize reporting as burdensome; product documentation includes technical constraints that may affect edge-case reporting scenarios. - Performance/UX concerns - Some users report occasional system lag and a learning curve for administrative users; others find the front-desk workflows acceptable. - Security/compliance transparency gaps - Program-level SOC and ISO statements are available, but HMS-specific attestations and the full scope of controls require vendor-provided documentation during procurement.

Deal disqualifiers: characteristics of a poor fit

Need for extremely rapid plug-and-play deployment with minimal integration effort
Limited internal capacity or partner budget to manage integration/interface complexity
Requirement for posted pricing and frictionless month-to-month contracting

Reasons some customers left for competitors (churn reasons)

Reported churn drivers include perceived slow pace of product innovation, update-related instability (including Liaison Server–related incidents referenced in public reviews), and integration or reporting pain points.

02Why they buy

- unique selling points supported by multiple sources (with caveats) - Multi-property operations and centralized guest profiles: product positioning and customer narratives indicate support for centralized workflows and data models across multiple properties. - Integration architecture via Databridge/Liaison: technical documentation describes event-driven interfaces for keys, payments, room status updates, and other operational events. - Alignment with the Infor ecosystem: integration potential with Infor OS and other Infor products may reduce the number of separate vendors for organizations already standardized on Infor technology. - Areas where competitors have advantages (balanced) - Oracle OPERA: broader integration footprint and established enterprise adoption patterns in large brand environments. - Mews and Cloudbeds: market materials position these vendors around modern UX, automation, and marketplace integrations that may fit different buyer priorities.

03Field reports

Review platforms — Gartner Peer Insights (enterprise-leaning)

A critical, mid-range review from a Director of IT indicated the product has improved over time but may not be keeping pace with broader industry expectations; the reviewer reported plans to move to a different product. Reported issues included failures following Liaison Server updates, reporting difficulties, and costly/slow interface setup. Reported positives included assignment of a dedicated support resource and an acceptable end-user learning curve for front desk staff.

Review platforms — G2 (small sample)

- G2 shows an overall rating based on a small number of reviews; the small sample size should be interpreted cautiously. - One reviewer highlighted comprehensive functionality, improvements to operational workflows, availability of analytics, and an interface they found usable and scalable; dislikes included a steep learning curve and occasional system lag. - Another reviewer described the interface as visually simple and noted functionality gaps that required enhancement.

Review platforms — Capterra (small-to-midsize sample)

Capterra lists an overall rating based on a limited number of reviews and a distribution that includes both high and low ratings. Individual review text may require deeper navigation; the distribution suggests mixed experiences among reviewers.

Hospitality-specific review directory — Hotel Tech Report (larger sample)

- Hotel Tech Report lists an aggregated rating and a recommendation percentage based on reviewer submissions. Their automated summary of reviews identifies commonly cited positives such as broad feature coverage, integrations, configurable reporting, and housekeeping functionality, and commonly cited negatives around update-related disruptions and interface/usability concerns. This automated summary represents an aggregation of reviewer content rather than a direct human-authored case study.

Community / social — Reddit (operators & IT discussions)

Operator sentiment is mixed in community threads: some front desk operators report the product is easy to use for their duties but note idiosyncrasies in management functions. Community posts reference Infor Concierge as a support channel and include anecdotal discussions of security-related incidents attributed by some posters to third-party interfaces. These anecdotal reports are not independently verified.

Reasons customers chose this product over alternatives (as evidenced in sources)

Common adoption drivers include multi-property standardization, centralized profiles, and alignment with other Infor products (e.g., Infor OS, financial systems).
Some community commentary indicates HMS can be perceived as easier than certain other enterprise systems for specific front-desk workflows; these observations are anecdotal and property-dependent.

Specific outcomes customers achieved (with metrics when available)

Publicly available, independently verified KPI improvements are limited. Vendor and customer narratives emphasize qualitative outcomes such as reduced local IT burden and improved standardization; these claims should be validated in reference calls and contractual commitments.
