01Common complaints

- Company sizes or stages where this product is overkill or insufficient - Early-stage and small companies (for example, fewer than ~250 employees) without a complex Infor landscape are unlikely to justify the portal and administration overhead. - Industries or use cases where competitors are clearly superior - Employee communications and communities at scale: Microsoft Viva Engage (within Microsoft 365) generally provides a broader employee engagement platform. - CRM-centered collaboration: Salesforce Chatter is typically preferable when work revolves around Salesforce objects. - Service delivery/self-service portal: ServiceNow Employee Center is typically a better fit when the primary objective is service request management and knowledge delivery. - Technical requirements that this product cannot meet - Organizations that require extensive, rapid custom UX and content experiences beyond the Ming.le widget/homepage paradigms may encounter framework limitations. - Budget constraints that make alternatives more appropriate - Organizations that already license Microsoft 365 broadly may find a Microsoft-based intranet/collaboration approach more cost-efficient than deploying a separate portal layer. - Specific workflows or integrations where the product falls short - Broad external collaboration with partners and customers requiring modern extranet UX and governance may be better served by other extranet platforms or SharePoint extranet patterns. - Red flags in the buying process (e.g., requires annual commitment, no free trial) - Quote-based pricing and bundling can make it difficult to isolate Ming.le ROI. - The transition from Ming.le to Infor OS Portal requires contract and roadmap clarification with the vendor or account team. - Current limitations acknowledged by the vendor - Infor documentation notes that accessing the portal via the correct portal URL is required to load libraries; otherwise some features may not work properly. - Inbox troubleshooting documentation shows multiple prerequisites and configuration dependencies that can lead to missing inbox or no-message conditions, indicating potential operational complexity for administrators. - Features on the roadmap (not yet available) - note estimated dates if available - Platform transition - Infor documentation indicates that the Ming.le portal functionality has been transitioned to the Infor OS Portal in recent releases, with multi-tenant Ming.le tenants encouraged to migrate to the OS Portal by a vendor-specified date. Buyers should confirm the current roadmap and migration timelines with Infor account teams. - Scale limitations (at what volume/size does it break down?) - No public scale ceilings were identified in the retrieved sources. - Security or compliance gaps - Ming.le-specific compliance documentation is not centralized publicly; buyers should validate whether Ming.le/OS Portal components are in scope for required certifications (SOC/ISO) and request current reports. - Technical debt or architectural limitations mentioned in reviews - The noted difficulty creating custom content suggests potential architectural constraints in the portal framework; detailed technical assessments should be requested during evaluation. - API limitations or integration constraints - Reliance on the portal URL for proper feature loading suggests deep-linking or bypass scenarios can break some experiences.

Deal disqualifiers: what makes a poor fit

Organizations that are not Infor-centric or are migrating away from Infor
Organizations seeking a broad, best-of-breed employee social network independent of ERP context
Organizations requiring fully transparent public pricing and lightweight self-serve onboarding

Why some customers left for competitors (churn reasons)

Public churn commentary specific to Ming.le is limited.
- The transition from Ming.le branding to Infor OS Portal may have reduced investment in Ming.le-specific customizations and driven organizations to evaluate alternative employee portals.

02Why they buy

- Competitive advantages supported by available customer evidence - External review volume is limited, so broad customer validation is constrained. Available evidence indicates vendor-reported outcomes in some case material and older user app reviews praising usability/performance. - Unique features and capabilities competitors lack - Integration into Infor OS/ION and contextual sharing patterns within Infor process flows (the portal functions as an Infor suite UX layer). - Differentiation from competitors based on reviews - Public reviews are sparse, limiting the ability to assert broad differentiation. Available reviews indicate that the portal can be perceived as an interface layer unless it yields demonstrable workflow improvements. - Value propositions with evidence from case studies - Vendor-reported case examples include system consolidation and reported cost savings (see Pilot Flying J), but methodology and independent verification are not provided. - Areas where competitors clearly have advantages (be balanced) - Microsoft ecosystem tools typically offer deeper content management and intranet capabilities, broad user familiarity, and widespread adoption. - Salesforce provides strong CRM-native collaboration when CRM objects are central to workflows.

Why customers chose this product over alternatives

- The principal rationale in public commentary is ecosystem fit: - Integration with Infor CloudSuite solutions - Single sign-on across Infor applications - Context sharing and shortcuts that depend on correct portal configuration - Vendor case material reports consolidation and cost savings when Ming.le is used as the portal for multiple internal and third-party systems; these are vendor-reported outcomes and not independently verified in the captured content.

03Field reports

Customer Testimonials

- Direct quotes from Gartner Peer Insights, Reddit, TrustRadius, G2, Hacker News - Gartner Peer Insights (Infor Ming.le) - Quote (critical): “We found that Ming.le is an outer layer that sits on top of other ERP solutions. I did not provide much added value to the overall user experience.” (Older review; overall rating footprint was very small.) - Gartner UI also surfaces short "Likes & Dislikes" snippets; one snippet is negative ("There isn't much to like about this product.") and another mentions difficulty creating custom content. Buyers should consult full review context for nuance. - Apple App Store (Infor Ming.le iOS app) - Quote (mixed): “Far more intuitive than Activity Deck and performance is light years ahead. However, it doesn't match the previous mobile suite feature for feature. Users are critically not able to start workflows from Mingle mobile…” (Older app store review.) - Quote (positive): “Great application. Makes using Ming.le a joy.” (Older app store review.) - Infor Global Community (Infor-managed community forum) - User discussions include practical issues such as utility app URLs not working in certain Infor OS/M3 contexts, suggesting configuration and URL patterns can be brittle or non-obvious. - Reddit - Direct Ming.le user reviews were not prominent in the retrieved Reddit results; most items were generic discussions or low-signal content. Community sentiment for Ming.le appears limited in public Reddit threads. - TrustRadius / G2 - Product-level review pages for Ming.le were not clearly retrieved in the searches performed. TrustRadius and G2 contain many Infor product reviews generally, but Ming.le-specific items were not prominent in accessible results. - Hacker News - No notable Ming.le-specific Hacker News discussion was found in accessible searches.

BALANCE: Include both high and low ratings with equal weight

Review scarcity is a key limitation for Ming.le:
- Gartner Peer Insights showed a small number of ratings for Ming.le.
- Mobile app stores contain a handful of older ratings, mostly positive but dated.
- Due to limited review volume, the report emphasizes substantive critical feedback where available (for example, perceived limited incremental value and customization friction).

Common criticisms and complaints (support issues, bugs, missing features)

- Some reviewers perceive Ming.le as an interface layer over ERP without providing substantial additional user experience value. - Difficulties creating custom content have been reported, consistent with other portal frameworks where widget/customization models can be restrictive. - Mobile feature gaps were cited in older app store reviews (notably the inability to start workflows from mobile at that time). - Configuration prerequisites for inbox/task experiences (roles, feature switches, person IDs) have caused operational friction for administrators.

Specific outcomes customers achieved (with metrics when available)

Infor case example (Pilot Flying J)
- Infor reports significant annual savings, a positive reported ROI, and consolidation of many third-party and internal systems when using Ming.le as a single portal. These metrics are vendor-published and lack disclosed methodology or independent verification in the available materials.

Customer pain points and frustrations mentioned in reviews

Portal perceived as an interface layer without commensurate UX enhancements
- Difficulty creating custom content
- Missing mobile workflow capabilities (per older reviews)
- Administrative complexity related to security roles and configuration prerequisites for core features such as the Inbox

Deal-breakers and reasons customers didn't purchase

Public evidence is limited; likely disqualifying factors include:
- Organization is not Infor-centric (limited ROI if Infor applications are not in use)
- An existing Microsoft 365 / SharePoint intranet standard is already in place
- Need for a more feature-rich social collaboration platform independent of ERP context

Detailed customer success stories with metrics

Pilot Flying J (vendor-published)
- Vendor reports: material annual cost savings; a modest single‑digit after‑tax ROI; consolidation of multiple third‑party and internal systems.
- Reported mechanism: Ming.le positioned as a single portal to access Infor and third‑party applications, intended to improve communications and streamline systems.

Specific results and quantified business impact

The results above are published by the vendor and are not independently verified in the captured content.

Implementation details and time to value

The case description is high‑level and does not disclose project duration, resource allocation, or baseline metric definitions.

Challenges faced during adoption and how they were resolved

The vendor case snippet does not disclose detailed implementation challenges or mitigation steps.

CRITICAL: Note when metrics are vendor-published without independent verification

The Pilot Flying J metrics are vendor‑published and lack a disclosed methodology in the available material.

Note methodology gaps (e.g., "ROI calculated by vendor, methodology not disclosed")

The ROI and savings methodology are not provided in the vendor case summary; buyers should request supporting analysis and detail when evaluating vendor claims.

Include mixed results - projects that struggled or failed when available

No publicly available failed implementations were identified in the sources retrieved. Community posts indicate day‑to‑day operational friction (for example, access/configuration issues) rather than large‑scale failures.

05The pitch

What the product does (core value proposition in objective terms)

- Infor Ming.le is an Infor-provided intelligent portal and collaboration layer designed to operate on top of Infor (and some third‑party) business applications. It provides: - A centralized start page/portal experience - Embedded collaboration (feeds/streams, sharing screens/data/attachments) - Task and alert notifications (often tied to Infor ION workflows) - Role-based homepages with widgets and contextual analytics embedded into business processes (per Infor positioning) - In practice, Ming.le is also used as a web-based application framework and common UI entry point for various Infor application families (Lawson, LN, M3, CSI/SyteLine, etc.), with integration points through Infor ION.

Target market and market positioning

- Targeted primarily at mid-market to large enterprises already standardized on the Infor ecosystem (Infor CloudSuites and/or Infor OS stack), where a unified portal, identity/SSO, navigation, and workflow inbox function as an integration layer across applications. - It is positioned under enterprise social networking / collaboration portal themes, while functionally operating as a systems portal (navigation, widgets, embedded apps, identity, contextual links) rather than a general-purpose collaboration suite like Microsoft 365.
