Early pay confusion:
Paycom's late-2022 announcement described Vault as a way to provide earlier pay access, reduce check-cashing fees, and reduce paper-based payroll and check fraud. This is vendor-provided information and does not constitute an independent ROI analysis.
Critical evaluation:
Paycom Vault is Paycom’s employer-sponsored pay card program: a Vault Visa Payroll Card that employees can elect as their payroll deposit destination (full or partial, if the employer supports split direct deposit). Vault is positioned as an alternative to paper checks and, for some workers, an alternative to a traditional bank account. The vendor states the card provides earlier access to wages (vendor-stated earlier availability) and access to a surcharge-free ATM network (Allpoint).
In addition to the card itself, Paycom offers Everyday (earned wage access / daily pay) which in some configurations delivers earned wages more frequently to the Vault card. Availability of Everyday is controlled by the employer and is not universally enabled.
