Organizations should consider alternatives if:
1. The deployment must work with standard runtimes (upstream llama.cpp, LM Studio, Ollama) without custom builds—Bonsai models typically require PrismML forks at present.
2. Procurement requires documented enterprise security attestations (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, penetration-test reports, SSO/SCIM support)—these are not documented publicly.
3. Independent validation of performance is required for mission-critical deployments—third-party replication of PrismML’s claims was limited at launch.
4. Model quality and benchmark leadership are the primary constraints rather than memory or power—larger or differently optimized models and quantization approaches may be more appropriate.
5. Guaranteed long-term vendor support, SLAs, or enterprise-grade contract commitments are required—these were not clearly described in public materials.
