1) High-security / compliance-heavy applications
- If an organization’s security team requires SRI for third-party scripts or strict artifact verification, Skypack’s model (as publicly criticized) may be a blocker.
2) Large-scale SPA/complex dependency graphs
- If an application will import many modules at runtime, bundling often provides better performance and operational simplicity.
3) Need for enterprise support and contractual guarantees
- If an organization requires published SLAs, named support tiers, or compliance documentation, Skypack’s public information may be insufficient.
4) Long-lived mission-critical systems with strict change control
- Even with pinning, organizations may prefer building internally and serving signed artifacts from their own origin or CDN.
