1. You only need cost visibility, not enforcement
- A lighter-weight cost observability tool (for example, SELECT) or Snowflake-native monitoring may be lower risk and quicker to deploy.
2. Your organization cannot accept query-path disruptions
- If uptime requirements are extreme and you do not have strong rollback and testing processes, inserting an intercept layer may be unacceptable.
3. Your main problem is data correctness rather than query behavior
- Data observability platforms (Monte Carlo, Metaplane, Bigeye) are typically better aligned to address freshness, volume, schema, and lineage issues.
4. You need broad multi-platform governance
- The vendor’s functionality is Snowflake-centric. If Databricks, BigQuery, or other warehouses are equally important, this product may become a point solution.
5. Budget constraints
- Pro and Enterprise tiers may be difficult to justify unless savings or risk reduction are measurable and attributable.
