Synopsys Static & Formal Verification is a portfolio of EDA verification tools designed to identify RTL and SoC integration issues earlier than simulation by using static analysis (lint, CDC/RDC, structural/semantic checks) and formal methods (property proving, equivalence-style checks, connectivity, X-prop, datapath validation). The primary products in this scope are:
- Synopsys VC SpyGlass — RTL static signoff platform (lint, CDC, RDC and related signoff flows).
- Synopsys VC Formal — formal verification platform organized into modular "apps" (FPV, connectivity, X-prop, FRV, SEQ, DPV, security verification, etc.).
Synopsys describes these tools as supporting "shift-left" verification (finding bugs before testbenches exist) and as flows intended for signoff on large SoCs. The vendor also describes integration with the broader Synopsys verification ecosystem (notably VCS and Verdi).
